associazione cantierezero – cantierezero

associazione cantierezero

IT | The association cantierezero organises and promotes activities with the aim of understanding and disseminating both contemporary music and cultures, through a transdisciplinary, accessible and unconventional approach between arts and knowledge.
In its projects – also addressed to young people – music is at the core of high-profile artistic and cultural paths, able to connect different themes and disciplines, inviting to confrontation, discussion, understanding and respect.
The discussion on the relationship between art and new technologies also occupies an important place in the elaboration of the proposals, as does the reflection on the problems of our time. The association is open to collaboration with artistic, scientific and cultural realities operating both on the territory and on a national and international level, encouraging synergies capable of consolidating long-term planning and cultural investment – especially of small associations – the exchange and sharing of knowledge, as an opportunity for mutual enrichment and growth.
Particular attention is paid to dialogue and cooperation with neighbouring countries – favoured by the boundary nature of the area around Trieste and Friuli Venezia Giulia – and, especially, with Austria, which the association has established, since its foundation, a regular collaboration with.
From 2019 cantierezero is collaborating with Syd Reynal (physicist and artistic researcher) and Claudio Weidman (electronic engineer), associate professors at the French university team ICI (Information, Communications, Imagery) – ETIS (Information Processing and System Teams) for the realisation of projects that include new technologies applied to musical and artistic practice.

Since 2020, the association organizes the festival Teatri del suono, a musical and interdisciplinary project launched in Trieste, during ESOF (Euro Science Open Forum) 2020, for the Science in the City Festival, marking a new important step in cantierezero’s activity on the territory. The festival invites musicians, artists, scholars, associations and institutions that share cantierezero’s artistic and cultural aims to create a common and collaborative path, capable of communicating and enhancing the potential of transversal dialogue between knowledge based on the artistic medium.
